The civil construction works involve replacing the superstructure of the existing 5.575 km, four-lane Mahatma Gandhi Setu on NH-19 over the Ganga River in Patna, Bihar. The new structure spans 5577.70 m, comprising 94 spans, including steel truss spans of 66.73 m (2 nos), 63.41 m (2 nos) and 90 spans ranging from 119.72 m to 122.66 m. The bridge, with a 28.95 m width, features dual trusses carrying 4 lanes and adjacent footpaths, and uses spherical bearings. Dismantling is executed with specialized saw cutters under strict pollution control, ensuring minimal debris in the deep perennial river.
